RDS Plans Tournaments To Boost Esports
KARACHI: An entire series and league of tournaments across PC as well as mobile gaming has been planned for local players by REDtone Digital Services (RDS) in Pakistan.
“This is being started with a kick-off tournament in July. And I tell you the whole year’s calendar is very exciting,” said Mahnoor Nadeem, Chief Executive RDS while talking to ‘The News’.
She said there are currently more than 50 million gaming enthusiasts in the country, who are a part of the global e-sports ecosystem in some capacity.
“The future of e-sports is bright and the industry is growing at a rapid pace. Our youth has the capability to represent Pakistan well in both the domestic and global esports arena,” she added.
It is to be noted that recently the KP government announced to open up esports academies in the province and tasked two core departments for this.
“We look forward to forming alliances which will benefit the ecosystem as a whole, providing a global platform to showcase our community’s talent,” said Mahnoor.
